Ruth Ann Pratt

Ruth Ann Pratt, 59, of Meadville, died unexpectedly at home Sunday, February 15, 2015.

She was born April 25, 1955 in Meadville, a daughter of the late Ralph and Doris Irwin Woolstrum.  She married Richard C. Pratt August 14, 1971 and he survives.

Ruth was a graduate of Cochranton High School, a 1989 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Edinboro University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, and a 1997 graduate of Edinboro University with a Master’s degree in Education.  She worked as an elementary school teacher for Crawford Central School District since 1992 and was currently a 5th grade teacher at Cochranton Elementary School.

Ruth was of the Methodist faith.  She enjoyed gardening and especially loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors, in addition to her loving husband Rick of 43 years, include a son, Ryan Pratt of Guys Mills; a daughter, Sarah McKnight and her husband Scott of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, Gavin McKnight, Collin McKnight, Elaina McKnight, and Carson Pratt; five sisters, Sandra Buchanan of Meadville, Donna Lang and her husband John of Guys Mills, Kathryn Amos and her husband Glenn of Waterford, Charlotte Hamilton and her husband Steve of Meadville, and Bonnie Woolstrum of Phoenix, AZ; a brother, Charlie Woolstrum of Guys Mills; her mother-in-law, Elaine Pratt of Blooming Valley; numerous nieces and nephews, and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Lisa Pratt; and her father-in-law, William C. Pratt.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral and committal service will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Christine Rogan, Sister-in-law and Pastor of Faith United Methodist Church, Geneva, officiating.

Interment will be in Smith Cemetery.
