Ruth B. Mcnamara

Ruth B. McNamara, 57, of 10769 S. Wayland Rd., Meadville, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at her residence following a two-year illness with cancer.

She was born November 26, 1951 in Meadville, a daughter of Byrl and Marian Borland Braymer.  Ruth married C. Scott McNamara June 8, 1973 and he survives.

She was a 1969 graduate of Saegertown High School and a 1973 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy.  She was employed at Meadville Medical Center for 31 years as a physical therapist.

Ruth, a member of McDaniels Corners Bible Church and a former member of Calvary Baptist Church, served for many years in the children’s ministries at both churches.  She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and desired above all that her family, friends, and co-workers come to share this faith.  Her ready smile and signature laugh revealed her love of people and life.  Ruth taught all who knew her how to live a common life uncommonly well.  In these last two years of life, Ruth showed all who knew her how to die heroically with abundant peace and joy.

Survivors, in addition to her husband Scott of 36 years, include her parents, Byrl and Marian Braymer of Saegertown; two daughters, Ann Reese and her husband Kevin of Greenville, SC and Frances McNamara of Meadville; three sons, Daniel McNamara and his wife Cara of Winona Lake, IN, Samuel McNamara and his wife Courtney of Erie, and Stanley McNamara of Meadville; two granddaughters, Eleanor and Evelynn McNamara; a sister, Alice McClymonds and her husband Seth of Saegertown; three brothers, Richard Braymer and his wife Linda, Robert Braymer and his wife Wanda, and James Braymer and his wife Brenda, all of Saegertown; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 543 Randolph St., Meadville.  The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Clyde Ball, Rev. Douglas Messerall, and Rev. David Maitland officiating.  Several family members and friends will assist in a memorial of tribute and praise.

Interment will be in Wayland Cemetery, East Mead Township, Crawford County.
