Ruth B. Tinker, 83, of Meadville, died Monday, August 17, 1998 at Meadville Medical Center following a period of declining health.
She was born in Blooming Valley, PA February 16, 1915, a daughter of Granville and Bessie Douglas Briggs. She married Max V. Tinker, November 17, 1934 and he preceded her in death in 1974.
She worked for a period of time at Talon and was a production worker at American Viscose Corp.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Order of the Easter Star and was a graduate of Meadville High School.
Survivors include a son, David L Tinker (Jody) of Springdale, PA; a sister, Eloise Loftus of Erie; two brothers, Granville Briggs of Saegertown and Charles Richard Briggs of Polk and two grandchildren, Megan Tinker and Brandon Tinker.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ruric D. and Clarence G. Briggs and two sisters, Margaret B. Hersh and Mildred P. Ervin.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
