Ruth C. Shannon

Ruth C. Shannon, 86, of Meadville, a former executive secretary, died Monday, January 27, 1992, at her residence following a period of declining health.

She was born in Casselton, ND, May 18, 1905, a daughter of Harland P. and Clara Record Corliss.  She married Wallace Shannon.  He preceded her in death.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church and was previously employed as the secretary to the head of engineering department at Talon.  She had been employed as a secretary at the former Faser-Brace Engineering Co., secretary to President William Tolley of Allegheny College and worked at the former Keystone View Co.  She attended Stetson University and Allegheny College.

Survivors include a step-daughter, Dorothy Kletke of Pittsburgh and two step-grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
