Ruth D. Frizzell

Ruth D. Frizzell, 63, of 10621 Franklin Pike, Meadville, died at home Wednesday, March 8, 2006 following an extended illness.

She was born in Minnesota April 29, 1942 a son of John and Pearl McKee Smiley, Sr.  She married James B. Frizzell July 3, 1961 and he survives.

She was a baby sitter for 25 years and volunteered with the Conneaut Lake Football Backers for 5 years.  She enjoyed crafts, gardening, painting, playing cards and cooking/backing.

Survivors, in addition to her husband of 44 years, include: two daughters, Cheree S. Frizzell of Pittsburgh and Terri J. Mattera of Somerset; two sisters, Nell Livezey-Rosen of Sedalia, KY and Mary Davis of Danbury, WI and three brothers, John Smiley, Jr of McMinnville, OR, Douglas Smiley of Danbury, WI and Robert Smiley of Danbury, WI.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Christopher C. Parker, Jr. on May 26, 2005; four brothers, Herb Smiley, Toby Smiley, Earl Wayne (Peanuts) Smiley and Carl Smiley and two sisters, Dorothy Terzini and Betty Zone

Calling hours will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral and committal service will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Gerald Murphy, retired United Methodist clergyman, officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
