Ruth E. Borland

Ruth E. Borland, 87, of Meadville, Union Township, died Friday, July 31, 1987, at St. Paul's Homes in Greenville.

She was born in Union Township, December 15, 1899, a daughter of Daniel and Carrie Shafer Ehrgott.  She married Harold L. Borland February 22, 1922.  He survives.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and the church's ladies guild.  She was the first baby baptized at the church after it organized.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Helen) Ohle, Sr. of Greenville and Mrs. Bryl (Marian) Braymer of Saegertown; a brother, LeRoy Ehrgott of Meadville; eight grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Herman Ehrgott.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Cochranton Cemetery.
