Ruth E. Foulk

Ruth E. Foulk, 77, of Cox Road, Guys Mills, died Thursday, September 18, 2003 at the Meadville Medical Center.

She was born in Kerrmoor, PA May 26, 1926 a daughter of Leslie and Elma Thurston Young.  She married Dale R. Foulk March 16, 1946 and he survives.

She worked over the years as a waitress at the former Campus Cove Restaurant, at Wirts Drug Store and in later years as a babysitter.  She was a very active member at Pleasantview Alliance Church where she led the Women’s Bible Study, sang in the choir and in earlier years led the Children’s Choir.  She was also a Prayer Warrior, praying for those in need.

Survivors, in addition to her husband of 57 years include: a daughter, Carol Walton and her husband Jerry of Meadville; a son, Jerry Lee Foulk and his wife Carol of Longview, TX; nine grandchildren, Heidi Boot, Jeremy Foulk, Jennifer Such, Jill Johnson, Joshua Walton, Joy Walton, Jacob Walton, Joseph Walton and Johannah Walton; nine great grandchildren and two sisters, Sarah Johnston and her husband Richard of Meadville and Helen Puntel and her husband Joseph of Venice, FL.  She was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Woods and Hazel Young.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Pleasantview Alliance Church, 16233 State Hwy. #86, Saegertown with the Rev. Walter Frankenberry, Pastor and Rev. Jerry Walton, Son-in-law, officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

The family suggests memorials be made to Pleasantview Alliance Church, 16233 State Hwy. #86, Saegertown, PA 16433.
