Mrs. Ruth E. Kohl, 70, of Pittsburgh, died about Saturday, June 16, 1962, at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a long illness.
She was born in Meadville, May 14, 1892, a daughter of Frank M. and Florence Webb Brown, and married the late Albert E. Kohl of Westfield, NY. She moved to Pittsburgh following his death.
She formerly was a buyer for Strawbridge & Clothier department store, Philadelphia; Lord & Taylor department store, New York City and Gimbels department store in Pittsburgh.
She formerly was active in Stone Methodist Church and at one time was a soloist there. She was graduated from Meadville public schools and Meadville Business College.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Ervine N. (Marjorie) Branch of Warren and three cousins, Hugh and Oscar Swaney of Meadville and David Swaney of Wellsburg, WV.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
