Ruth E. Mccartney

Ruth E. McCartney, 95, of Meadville and a resident of Meadville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center since January 2012, died there, Friday, July 5, 2013.

She was born in Geneva, PA May 13, 1918 a daughter of Clarence and Minah Brown Coulter.  She married Donald P. Marley September 4, 1937 and he preceded her in death March 3, 1949.  She subsequently married Lawrence S. (Mac) McCartney October 29, 1952 and he preceded her in death February 22, 2001.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer, a former member of the Vernon Central Hose Co. and she enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, making crafts, crocheting, playing cards and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by five children, Sondra McKinley and her husband William of Meadville, Kevin L. McCartney and his wife Kimberly of Cochranton, Linda Pendolino and her husband Vince of Meadville, Karen Stefanacci of Lewis Center, OH and Donna Wilkes of El Camino Village, CA.; fifteen grandchildren, Greg Huff and his wife Sheila, Steven Huff, David Wilkes, Ryan Wilkes and his wife Carol, Jon Wilkes and Lori Wilkes Zern all of California, Robin McKinley Durasa and her husband Andrew of Saegertown, Keith McKinley and his wife Amy of Meadville, Denise Pendolino and Nick Pendolino and his wife Jodi all of Harrisburg, Tony Pendolino and his wife Stephanie of Naperville, IL, Dustin McCartney and his wife Joanna of Quakertown, PA, Bret McCartney and his wife Summer of Cochranton, Aubrey Stefanacci Bowdish and her husband Justin of Cameron, NC and Ashley Stefanacci Marley and her husband Robbie of Miami, FL; 23 great grandchildren, Rian Bowdish, Jayde and Zane Marley, Kaya, Cru, Claire and Quin McCartney, Dominic, Sofia, Lui, Bella and Anthony Pendolino, Kimberley, Eric and Christina Wilkes, Chad Zern, Rhiannon Zermeno, Drew Durasa, Ava McKinley, and Deanna, Randy, Kira and Serina Huff; nine great great grandchildren, Richard, Marley, Riley, Seth, Noah, Jordan, Bobbi, Kyndall and Gavyn; a brother, Frederick Coulter and his wife Lucille of Hudson, FL; a sister-in-law, Alberta McCartney of Cambridge Springs and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Melody Huff Barris; four sisters, Mariam Horne, Cecile Porter, Loris Bingham and Dorothy Sheckler and four brothers, Lawrence (Buzz) Coulter, Charles (Pat) Coulter, Frank Coulter and Paul Coulter.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, Inc., 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake.

The funeral service will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Rachel Johns, Pastor of the Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer, officiating.

Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer, 16864 Conneaut Lake Road, Meadville, PA 16335 or the Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
