Ruth E. Miller, 86, formerly of Meadville and residing in Sebring, FL, since 1982, died at home Friday, January 28, 2001.
She was born in Greenville, October 4, 1914, a daughter of Edward and Caroletta Barnard Mason. She married Richard A. Miller and he survives.
She was a home economics teacher for the 8th and 9th grade at Meadville Junior High for 32 years retiring in 1977. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sebring, FL where she sand in the choir. She graduated from Indiana State Teachers College and took special studies in home economics at Penn State University. While living in Meadville she was a member of Stone United Methodist Church where she taught an adult Sunday school class. In 1980, she wrote a "Christmas Cookie Recipe Book."
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Janis M. Luvaas (John) of Yikima, WA; a son, Dr. Douglas C. Miller (Marilyn) of St. Louis, MO and one grandchild.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
