Ruth H. Malliard

Ruth H. Malliard, 87, of Cochranton, died Thursday, December 14, 1995 at Meadville Medical Center following a brief illness.

She was born January 9, 1908 near Polk in Venango County, a daughter of the late Samuel and Jane Wolford Jewell.  She married Thurwon (Tom) G. Malliard on September 1, 1935.  He died on January 28, 1991.

Mrs. Malliard worked at Talon at one time and had done domestic work in Cochranton.  She attended Meadville Alliance Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Iris M. Whitman of Cooperstown; three granddaughters, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Clair Arthur Maillard; one grandson, John Whitman; one sister, Ossie Weaver and one brother, Morris Jewell.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Cochranton Cemetery.
