Ruth Klippel

Ruth Klippel, 79, of Meadville, died Thursday, December 19, 1996 at Meadville Medical Center, following a brief illness.

She was born in Fort Wayne, IN, on March 8, 1917, a daughter of the late Rollo and Sarah Burke Bennett.  She married Donald H. Klippel on November 6, 1938 and he preceded her in death March 17, 1994.

She owned and operated Klippel's Gifts and Candles on North Street for thirteen years until her retirement in 1992.  She also worked at Sears for over twenty years and assisted her husband in his general contracting business.  She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, the St. John's Women's Guild and she was a Sunday school teacher and youth group leader.

Survivors, include a daughter, Lila J. Beedle of Meadville; a son, Walter E. Klippel of Maryville, TN; two sisters, Bertie Hawk of Conneautville and Olive Bennett of Cambridge Springs; three grandsons and one great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Wygant and four brothers, Raymond, Irvin, Harold and Charles Bennett.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in St. John's Cemetery, Union Township.
