Ruth Lucille Smith

Ruth Lucille Smith, 85, of Meadville passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019 in Sebring, FL.

She was born May 28, 1933 in Meadville, a daughter of Harvey James and Rose Edge Kaster.  She had been married to Lonon F. Smith, Jr.

Ruth attended Meadville Public Schools.  She worked at Servomation, Avtex, and retired from the housekeeping department at Meadville Medical Center.

A member of New Beginnings Church of God, Ruth was a former member of the Norrisville Garden Club, Meadville Eagles Aerie 429, and the Hayfield VFD Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include three sons, Lonon H. Smith (Debbie) of Tidioute, Mark K. Smith (Tammy) of Meadville, and Dale A. Smith (Florence) of Cochranton, her companion, Robert Burr of Meadville; six grandchildren, Cheryl Whitmore (Rusty), Jake Smith (Kristen), Heather Musacchio, Shannon Miller (Ted), Kimberly Hoist (Tom), and Josh Smith (Emily); six great-grandchildren, Racquel Whitmore, Sofia Musacchio, Madelene Smith, Colten Smith, Shelby Miller, and Oliver Miller; two step-great-grandchildren, Lawrence and Kilindi Tyler; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Susan Naomi Wells and Gladys Gilbert; two brothers, Earl and James Kaster; and a grandson-in-law, Pete Musacchio.

Calling hours will be Sunday, March 17th from 2-4 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST. MEADVILLE where the funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with the Pastor Curtis Clark, Pastor of New Beginnings Church of God, officiating.

Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
