Ruth Mae Barker

Ruth Mae Barker, 87, formerly of 767 Penn St., and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, died there Monday December 16, 2002.

She was born in Meadville April 2, 1915, a daughter of Wallace & Musa Zimmerman Haun.  She married Stewart F. Barker February 26, 1934, and he preceded her in death April 28, 1984.

She was a graduate of the Meadville Public Schools, and retired from the G. C. Murphy Co. as Personnel Manager after 30 years of service.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, its United Methodist Women, and the Wesleyan circle, a 50-year member of Golden Crown Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, a member of the Meadville Medical Center Auxiliary, and had been an active volunteer at the Medical Center.

Survivors include 2 nieces and many cousins.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc. 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral and committal service will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. John Scott, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.
