Ruth S. Chambers

Ruth S. Chambers, 72, of North Park Manor Nursing Home, formerly of Meadville, wife of Ira Chambers, died Friday, November 11, 1983, at the nursing home after an extended illness.

She was born in Union Township, Crawford County, September 1, 1911, a daughter of John and Josephine Cropp Styer.  She married Ira Chambers, November 24, 1949.  Last employed in the dietary department of Spencer Hospital, Mrs. Chambers had worked in the production department of Talon for 25 years.  She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ervin (Louise) Lockridge of Deerfield, VA and Mrs. William (Mary) Schlacter of Meadville; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
