Ruth Marie (Turner) Scott

Ruth Marie Scott, 92, of Meadville and an elder at Rolling Fields went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, August 20, 2020.

Ruth will be remembered most for her dedication to her family.  Nothing delighted her more than a house full of children and grandchildren.  Ruth touched the lives of innumerable people with her ability to listen and give unconditional love and support.  She had a true gift for making everyone feel special and valued.  She was a wonderful cook and there was always room for one more at the table.  Ruth was quick witted and fun.  She loved to sing and would spend hours in conversation with her friends and family, especially at the annual Scott reunion affectionately called the Scott Wilding.

Ruth was dedicated to her Lord.  She was a lifelong member of Denny Chapel.  She took her children and grandchildren along and helped teach the little ones, leading many to Christ on the way.

Ruth was born in Meadville April 23, 1928 a daughter of Clarence and Ruth Kiser Turner, one of nine children.  She married Harry W. Scott, Sr. August 28, 1946.  They celebrated 65 years together before his passing in 2011.

Ruth is survived by two sons, Harry Scott, Jr. and Donald Scott (Beverly) both of Meadville; one sister, Shirley Turner; eight grandchildren, Jason Scott (Brenda), Jon Scott, Bessie Scott, Ellen Cummings, Laurie Snyder (Troy), Leslie Loveland (Chris), Rebekah Crain and Jason Conner (Suzie); sixteen great grandchildren, Jonathon, Tristin, Drew, Kennedy, Savannah, Braeden, Carmen, Julie, Jacob, Kylie, Joey, Jocelyn, Sydney, Marlee, Harrison and Thatcher and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Glen A. Scott who was a missionary to China and seven siblings.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, August 25th from 2-4 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA.

The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Denny Cemetery.
