Ruth V. Hayden

July 1, 1917 — January 11, 2005

Ruth V. Hayden, 87, formerly of Gravel Run Rd., Cambridge Springs and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community since February 2001, died there, Tuesday, January 11, 2005.

She was born in Pittsburgh July 1, 1917, a daughter of the late Robert E. and Mildred F. Seibert Jones.  She married William A. Hayden April 1, 1932 and he preceded her in death November 5, 2003.

She was a homemaker and hardworking family woman who enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Beverly J. Barickman and her husband Victor of Meadville and Marie M. Leonhart and her husband Nevin of Meadville; 3 sons, Ronald V. Hayden, Sr. and his wife Rosemary of Meadville; Richard L. Hayden and his companion Renee Kachik of Guys Mills; and Thomas Hayden and his wife Joyce of Meadville; 20 grandchildren; 1 step-grandson; 18 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Hayden; 2 sons, Robert Hayden and William Hayden, Jr.; a stepsister, Betty Hosick Hayden; and 2 stepbrothers, Robert and James Hosick.

Calling hours will be today (Thursday) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with a Prayer Service at 8:45 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville with Rev. Richard Allen as celebrant.

Interment will be in Townley Cemetery.
