Ruth W. Grundy

Ruth W. Grundy, 74, of Meadville, died unexpectedly at home, Friday, December 15, 2000.

She was born in Guys Mills, December 24, 1925, a daughter of the late Ward and Fern Cutshall Applegate.  She was formerly married to Clarence Grundy, now deceased.

She was a 1944 graduate of Randolph High School, Guys Mills and had worked as a chef for over 20 years at Sandalini's Bistro.  She especially enjoyed raising flowers.

She was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Hank of Orlando, FL; a son, Thomas S. Grundy, Sr. of Guys Mills; three grandchildren, Michele Hank, Michael Grundy and Thomas Grundy, Jr.; two sisters, Margaret McCarl of Guys Mills and Lurlie Richard of Eustis, FL and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Harley Applegate and two sisters, Helen Wygant and Jaunita Bowdion.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
