Ruthann Irene Kawinski

Ruthann Irene Kawinski, 80, of Saegertown, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

She was born April 26, 1940 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of William George and Ruth Marie Robinson Reichle, Sr.  She married Robert Shay and subsequently married Ronald Adam Kawinski December 29, 1994.  He preceded her in death August 29, 2019.

Ruthann attended Meadville public schools.  She worked at Avtex, Weldon’s Clothing Store, and as owner and operator of R & B Sweats and T’s in the Downtown Mall.

Ruthann enjoyed going to flea markets, playing cards and especially spending time with family.  She loved life and always had a smile on her face.

Survivors include three children, Robert Shay, Jr. of Meadville, Mark Shay of Saegertown, and Tammy Shay Wasko of Saegertown; four step-children, Allyson Gordon (Gregg) of Meadville, Randy Kawinski (Karen) of Cambridge Springs, Mark Kawinski of Hampton, VA, and Cherie Reisinger (Roger) of Saegertown; seven grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Aiden Brown; a sister, Arlene MacBlain and a brother, Billy Reichle.

Family and friends will be received Tuesday, February 2nd from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where the funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Sam Marchetta, Wesbury Chaplain, officiating.  The wearing of masks is required.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
