Ryan H. Koerner, 16, of Meadville, died Thursday, June 17, 1999, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born February 17, 1983 in Greenville, a son of George E. (Kip) and Karen Nossokoff Koerner.
He was a sophomore at Meadville High School. He was a member of Who's Who Among American High School Students, a high honor's student, member of the Meadville High School JV soccer team, Crawford County Youth Soccer Assn., and Family First indoor soccer and basketball leagues of Erie. He participated in minor and major league baseball through the Meadville Area Youth Basketball and Soccer Camps. He was a recipient of the United States National Mathematics Award and the Arrow of Light, the highest award in Cub Scouting.
He worked at Putt-It Miniature Golf in Vernon Township. He enjoyed music, ICQ (Internet), and video games. He collected sports trading cards and autographs and was an avid sports fan especially of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Steelers and Pirates.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include two sisters, Brooke E. and Allyson R. Koerner at home; maternal grandparents, Zane and Shirley Nossokoff of Meadville; paternal grandmother, Charlotte Koerner of Oil City and also aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Cochranton Cemetery.
