S. Burton Daniels, 83, of Meadville, died Sunday, March 14, 1999, at East Pasco Medical Center, Zepherhills, FL after a brief illness. He and Mrs. Daniels were winter residents of Dade City, FL for the past several years.
He was born in Richmond Township, August 1, 1915, a son of Herman W. and Harriet (Hattie) Flick Daniels. He married Jaunita L. Theuret August 1, 1942, and she survives.
He was a 1936 graduate of Meadville High School, and retired as a meter reader in 1979 from Penelec after 37 years service. He also was a self-employed dairy farmer in Woodcock Township. He was a member of the Blooming Valley United Methodist Church; the National Farmers Organizations, a 65 year member of the Hayfield Grange, a volunteer with the Erie-Crawford State Police and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #429. He enjoyed playing cards and traveling.
Survivors in addition to his wife of 57 years, include one daughter, Mrs. Leslie (Bernita) Brown of Townville; two granddaughters, Mrs. Charles (Tina) Sterling of Guys Mills and Mrs. Shawn (Teresa) Hodges of Townville; one grandson, Bryan Brown of Meadville; two great-grandsons; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Spurgeon and Julia Fuge and one brother, Herman E. Daniels, Jr.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
