Sally L. Howles

Sally L. Howles, 61, of Venango, died at home Friday, May 9, 2014.  She was born June 4, 1952 in Meadville a daughter of A. Richard (Dick) and Alice Pardee Moore.  She married Greg A. Howles June 30, 1979 and he survives.

She was a 1970 graduate of Meadville High School and started working at City Hospital and has continued at Meadville Medical Center since 1977 in Medical Records.  She received a heart transplant on February 24, 2013 in Pittsburgh after a 15 year battle with congestive heart failure and diabetes.  She was a fighter and returned to work 6 months later in August.  She was a dedicated mother and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She also enjoyed crocheting and was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan.

In addition to her husband Greg, she is survived by a daughter, Megan Klobusnik of Venango; two sons, Greg (Boomie) Howles of Guys Mills and Michael Howles of Guys Mills; a grandson, Ethan Klobusnik; a granddaughter, Harper Klobusnik; a granddaughter expected in August Maci Grace Howles; three sisters, Kathy Ridgeway of Meadville, Marilyn Boughton of Venango and Debbie Smith and her husband Tim of Meadville; a father-in-law, James W. Howles of Venango and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her life-long friend, Linda Jean Hamilton.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville

The funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Dave Brumagin, Chaplain of Meadville Medical Center, officiating.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
