Samuel G. Stainbrook

April 16, 1885 — January 1, 1753

Samuel G. Stainbrook, 71, of Meadville, died Wednesday night at City Hospital where he had been a patient since Sunday afternoon.

Son of the late Henry and Mary Messerall Stainbrook, he spent his early life in East Fairfield Township and came to Meadville in 1905.  He was employed by the Erie Railroad and retired as an engineer in 1950.

He was a member of Stone Methodist Church, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Grace R. Stainbrook; a grandson, Russell P. Neff, stationed with the US Navy in Washington, DC; a sister, Mrs. I. E. Weil of Sarasota, FL and a brother, Daniel P. Stainbrook of Youngstown, OH.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
