Samuel H. Davis, 86, of Meadville, died Monday evening at City Hospital where he had been confined since suffering a fall in front of his home several weeks ago.
A son of the late Joseph H. and Esther Woodruff Davis, he was born in Independence, MO, and came to this area at the age of 5. He lived in East Mead and Vernon Townships before moving to Meadville. A carpenter, he did much of the interior woodwork at Ford Memorial Chapel, Allegheny College. At the time he was an employee of H. Paul Richard.
Survivors include two nieces, Miss Marie Davis with whom he made his home and Mrs. Harry Hauser of Phoenix, AZ.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.
