Sandra (Sandy) Caldwell Janaszek, 81, of Westford, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018 in Florida, surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 31, 1936 in Meadville, a daughter of Earl and Rachael Saunders Caldwell. She married Francis Janaszek April 28, 1990 and he survives. Sandy was a 1954 graduate of Meadville High School, a 1957 graduate of Allegheny General Hospital with an RN degree, a graduate of Slippery Rock University with an BSN degree, and a graduate of Edinboro University with an MSN degree. Sandy worked at Meadville City Hospital and Meadville Medical Center as an emergency room nurse, nursing supervisor, and certified diabetic educator. Following retirement, she was a camp nurse at the Presbyterian Church Camp, Westminster Highlands. A member of North Shenango Presbyterian Church, Sandy was also an affiliate member of the Presbyterian Church of Palm Harbor, FL. She was past president of the Meadville Business and Professional Women. Survivors, in addition to her loving husband Fran, include two sons, Mark Johnson (Debbie) of Spring, TX and Todd Johnson (Elaine) of Shoemakersville; five step-children, John Janaszek of Westford, Barbara Schweihs (Ralph) of Carol Stream, IL, Joseph Janaszek (Colleen) of Portland, OR, James Janaszek (Aimee) of Fair Oaks, and Doug Janaszek of Butler; six grandchildren, Theresa, Frank, Christopher, Joshua, Ryan, and Kelli; eight step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, Chloe, Helena, Levi, and Wyatt; several step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Carol Brunot of Tarpon Springs, FL; three half-sisters, Sherry Steible, Bonnie Caldwell and Yvonne Henderson, all of Cleveland; a half-brother, Gary Caldwell of Cleveland; nieces and nephews; and extended family, Qadeer and Kathi Mohammadzadah of Golden Valley, MN and their children Sonia and Samir. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Mullen; a stepson, Jay Janaszek; a great-granddaughter, Amelia; and a step-grandson. Calling hours will be Thursday, May 10th from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE. The funeral service will be Friday, May 11th at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Greg Vanderveen of North Shenango Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Camping Association of the Presbyteries of Northwest PA (for the scholarship fund), P.O.
