Sandra M. (Hunter) Russell

Sandra M. Russell, 52, of Meadville and a resident of the Crawford County Care Center died there, Wednesday, December 26, 2018.

She was born in Meadville November 22, 1966 a daughter of Merle James and Darlene Jenkins Hunter.  She married Edward G. Russell October 1, 1994 and he survives.

She was a 1985 graduate of Meadville Area Senior High School and worked in food service at several area businesses including Arby’s, McDonald’s, Allegheny College and in the deli of the former Thorns Grocery at the Meadville Mall.  She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, taking care of animals and she loved children.

In addition to her husband, Edward, she is survived by four children, Melissa Hunter, Zack Russell, Brad Russell and Alex Russell all of Meadville; a granddaughter, Lily Snyder; a grandson, expected in February; her mother, Darlene Hunter of Meadville; a brother, Douglas Hunter (Sally) of Townville and aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Datus and Anna Hunter and her maternal grandparents, Thomas and Florence Jenkins.

Calling hours will be Saturday, December 29th from 2-4 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.  The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Fr. Jeffrey Lucas, officiating.

Interment will be in St. Brigid Cemetery.
