Sara G. Merrick

Mrs. Sara G. Merrick, 99, formerly of Sharon and Reno, NV, and a resident of United Methodist Home and Nursing Hospital since January 1964, widow of William Lyle Merrick, died Saturday, March 5, 1983, after an extended illness.

She was born at Stephens City, VA, March 17, 1883, a son of William and Mary Sampsell Gardner.  Her husband died March 19, 1945.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Sharon.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Elizabeth) Harrah of Sacramento, CA;  a grandchild and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
