Sara Jane Raybuck

Sara Jane Raybuck, 86, formerly of Hartz Ave., Meadville and a resident of Eustis, FL, died Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Tavares Hospice House, Tavares, FL.

She was born May 19, 1924 in Uniontown, a daughter of Barney and Mary Belle Schurr Spicher.  She married John Blaine Raybuck April 11, 1941 and he preceded her in death June 3, 2000.

Sara was a graduate of Meadville High School and formerly worked at Wolf's Hardware Store and the Crawford Store, both in Meadville as well as being a homemaker.

A former member of First Presbyterian Church and its Faith Circle, she was a member and past president of the General Federation of Women's Club Meadville Chapter as well as a past Northwestern District Director, and chairwoman of several departments in the PA state chapter.  She was a former member of Meadville Elks Lodge 219 ladies auxiliary, Meadville Medical Center Auxiliary, Rota Literary Club including past president, several area sewing groups, charter member of the Meadville Community Food Pantry, a Red Cross volunteer, and member of the Eustis, FL Women's Club.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann Mazur and her husband Richard of Baden; a son, Dennis A. Raybuck and his wife Debra of Meadville; five grandchildren, Amanda Miller and her husband Chad, Elizabeth Boor and her husband Jason, Dr. Johnathon Raybuck and his fiancée Jessica Prutzman, Michelle Norton and her husband Jeff, and Tracy Mazur; and five great-grandchildren, Alexandria Miller, Nicholas and Jack Boor, and Kaitlin and Bryan Norton.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lt. Col. William F. Spicher.

Calling hour will be Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville where the funeral and committal service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Brian Jensen, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
