Sara Jane Seidel, 78, of Meadville, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday, May 25, 2014 at the Meadville Medical Center.
She was born in Meadville, March 24, 1936 a daughter of Barney and Irene Hogue McCaffrey. She married Richard D. Seidel on August 10, 1957 and he survives. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2007.
She was a member and active volunteer at New Beginning Church of God and was very involved with her prayer group. She was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed but always remembered. Her kindness and loving nature live on through her children and grandchildren.
Survivors, in addition to her husband Richard of 56 years, include: four children, Elizabeth Forgy and her husband Mike of Brookings, SD and their three sons, Aaron, Jason and his wife Christa and Lucas and his wife Bridgett; Molly Byham and her husband Jeff of Meadville and their children, Jacob, Rachel, Alec and Mia; Rich Seidel and his wife Mary of Edinboro and their four children, Celeste, Anna, Rockne and Kayle; and Matthew Seidel and his wife Jill of Hermitage and their two children Tyler and Hope; one great grandson, Benjamin Forgy; three sisters, Rose Anne Alexatos and her husband Ed of Meadville, Kathleen Perry of McKean and Mary Ellen McCaffrey of Lorton, VA; two brothers, Bill McCaffrey and his wife Donna of Sumter, SC and Jack McCaffrey of Conneaut Lake; a brother-in-law, Paul Seidel and his wife Carol of Weston, VA; a sister-in-law, Sue Barnes Brown of Medina, OH; a maternal aunt, Wiltha Thiess Chase of Greenville and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Nita McCaffrey; two brothers-in-law, Karl Perry and Phil Barnes and a niece, Tina Alexatos.
Friends will be received Friday from 10-11 a.m. at New Beginnings Church of God, 13226 Leslie Road, Meadville. The memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. Temple Jarrell, officiating.
The family suggests memorials be made to New Beginnings Church of God, 13226 Leslie Road, Meadville, PA 16335 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
