Saundra Jean Burch

Saundra Jean Burch, 68, of Walnut Street, Meadville died Thursday, November 29, 2007 at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh after a short illness.

She was born February 7, 1939 a daughter of Lyle and Genevieve Ames Dempsey.  She married Terry D. Burch June 23, 1962 and he survives.

She was a 1957 graduate of Townville High School and a 1959 graduate of Oil City Beauty School.  She worked at the Magic Curl in Titusville from 1959-1962.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church and loved to sing in its choir.  She was an avid quilter, seamstress and gardener.  She loved entertaining, shopping and spending time with her family.

Survivors, in addition to her husband Terry of 45 years, include: two daughters, Amber Zona and her husband David of Belle Vernon, PA and Jeannie Bauer and her husband Robert of Scarsdale, NY; two sisters, Clara Bruce and her husband Eugene of Aliquippa, PA and Patricia Hamilton and her husband Edward of Little Cooley, PA; a brother, Daniel Dempsey and his wife Celia of Red Bluff, CA; five grandchildren, Philip and Joseph Zona and Juliette, Brandt and Michael Bauer; three sisters-in-law, Lillian Dempsey of Guys Mills, Phyllis Dempsey of North East, PA and Naomi George and her husband Robert in Florida; her mother-in-law, Virginia Burch of Bradford, PA and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Lee Burch; two brothers, Carl Dempsey and Raymond Dempsey and a sister, Joy Dempsey.

Calling hours will be Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 353 Chestnut Street, Meadville with the Rev. Gerald Walton, Rev. Dillon Vroman and Rev. David Zona, officiating.

Burial will be in Chapmanville Cemetery.
