Seldon G. Smith

Seldon G. Smith, 69, of Meadville, died Tuesday, November 3, 1970, at Spencer Hospital following an illness of one week.

He was born in East Mead Township on July 14, 1901, a son of Frank P. and Lillian Briggs Smith.  He married Helen Jones on July 9, 1960.

Mr. Smith was a partner in the Blooming Valley Nurseries until he sold the partnership in 1959.  Prior to this, he was employed at the Erie Railroad car shop.  He attended the First Presbyterian Church of Meadville and was a member of the Veterans Assn. of the Erie Railroad, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Taylor Hose Co. and the Meadville Club.

Survivors, besides his widow, include a stepson, Frank W. Royer of Meadville; two sisters, Mrs. Daisy Ordwien of Saegertown, formerly of Blooming Valley; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
