Sharon L. (Bird) Bradley Hayes

Sharon Bird Bradley Hayes, 75, of Guys Mills died at home surrounded by her family Tuesday, October 15, 2019.

She was born May 6, 1944 in Meadville a daughter of David F. and Marybelle Horak Bird, Jr.  She had been married to Arthur (Pete) Bradley and then Harold Hayes.

She was a 1962 graduate of Randolph East Mead High School and a 1966 graduate of Edinboro University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  She earned her Master’s degree in education while raising four young children and teaching. She worked as an elementary school teacher in the Penncrest School District for 31 years.

She was a member of the United Evangelical Free Church of Guys Mills and the Pennsylvania State Education Association.

She is survived by four children, James Bradley (Diana) of Meadville, Kathryn Ross (Douglas) of Centerburg, OH, Patrick Bradley (Melodie) of Guys Mills and Douglas Bradley (Cynthia) of Meadville; nine grandchildren, Maralee Lellio (Andrew), Tawnae Bradley, Jacob Bradley, Zachery Bradley, David Bradley, Emilee Bradley, Taylor Gorman, Nathan Gorman (Niki) and Damion Rankin (Jonnie) and seven great grandchildren, Janelle, Amelia, Autumn, Aria, Milo, Ayla and Kashton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Schiller (Frank) and a brother, David Lyle Bird.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her dear friend and travel companion, Nancy Kopf, the Gerald and Cathy Miller family, Making Memories Catering, Dr. Brown, nurse Mariana and the entire Yolanda Barco Cancer Center staff, and Hospice of Crawford County.

Services will be private with interment in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.

The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 766 Liberty Street, Meadville, PA 16335, Randolph Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 25, Guys Mills, PA 16327, the United Evangelical Free Church of Guys Mills, P.O. Box 26, Guys Mills, PA 16327 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
