Sheila V. Linz

Sheila V. Linz, 73, of Meadville, died Monday, May 20, 1996 at Meadville Medical Center following a period of declining health.

She was born October 4, 1922 in Meadville, a daughter of the late George J. and Anna May (Buzza) Davis.  She married Joseph Linz in 1940.  He died in 1979.

Mrs. Linz was a 1940 graduate of Meadville High School.  She worked in the housekeeping department at the former Meadville City Hospital for seven years.  She previously had worked at Talon for several years.  She was affiliated with Stone Methodist Church and was a past member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aux.  She was known locally for her big band era style of blues singing.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. William (Gloria) Shields of Meadville and Mrs. James (Judy) Chapman of Northest; three sons, Robert E. Linz of Olney, MD, Joseph A. and James Linz, both of Meadville; two sisters, Gloria Lyons of Margate City, NJ and Ruth Zimmerman of Long Beach, CA; ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard G., Malcolm D. and William P. Davis and three sisters, Mildred Rogers, Anna Mullins and Eva Teitelbaum.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in St. Agatha's Cemetery.
