Sherman Grove

September 3, 1867 — January 1, 1753

Sherman Grove, 83, well-known resident of the Black Ash vicinity, died Tuesday morning at Spencer Hospital, following a long illness.

He was the last of eight children of Hayes and Amanda Archer Grove.  He spent his early life in Plum Township, Venango County, and later became a drilling contractor in oil fields in several states.

He was a member of Farmers Alliance and United Spanish American War Veterans.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Black Ash Cemetery.
