Sherry D. Urey

June 8, 1945 — November 12, 2012

Sherry D. Urey, 67, of Conneaut Lake, died Monday, November 12, 2012 at Meadville Medical Center.

She was born June 8, 1945 in Meadville, a daughter of Harold and Virginia Calvin Monnie.  She married Jack Urey July 19, 1969 and he survives.

Sherry was a graduate of Plattsburgh High School, Plattsburgh, NY.  She was employed by the Conneaut Lake Joint Municipal Authority and had previously worked as an assistant for 11 years to Dr. James Martin, Conneaut Lake, Freeauf Pharmacy, Conneaut Lake, as a secretary at John Rugala Motors, Andover, OH, and as a bookkeeper for Kosturick Construction Company, Conneaut Lake.

Sherry was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Conneaut Lake where she served as an Elder.  She attended the Lakeland Area Senior Center, Linesville and enjoyed playing cards and bingo.

Survivors, in addition to her loving husband Jack of 43 years, include a son, Jack Urey, Jr. and his wife Becca of Harmony; a brother, Gary Monnie and his wife Nancy of Conneaut Lake; three sisters-in-law, Doris Morrell of Greenville, Virginia Dubrawsky of Conneaut Lake, and Ida Abbott of Conneaut Lake; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, 12422 Conneaut Lake Rd., Conneaut Lake where the funeral and committal service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with the Rev. Mark Frailey, Pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Conneaut Lake, officiating.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Harmonsburg.
