Sherry Lynn Britton

June 19, 1947 — April 30, 2009

Sherry Lynn Britton, 61, of Titusville, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Titusville Hospital.

She was born in Meadville June 19, 1947 a daughter of H. Neal and Violet M. Plattner Britton.

She worked at Vallonia Industries in Meadville for 20 years.  She was of the Protestant Faith and was a resident of the Rockwood Group Home in Titusville of the Erie Homes for Children and Adults.  Previously she was with the ARC of Crawford County and Mental Health / Mental Retardation of Crawford County.  She was an avid Elvis Pressley and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.  If you met her you would have seen her strive to live, to love and to be loved.

Survivors, include: a sister, Nancy Fowler and her husband Kenton of Meadville; two brothers, Douglas L. Britton and his wife Patricia of Meadville and Neal E. Britton and his wife Debra of Chapmanville, several aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins and all her special friends at Rockwood, the ARC and MH/MR of Crawford County.  She is also survived by her extended family who helped in her care, Marilyn Penfield of Conneaut Lake, Ann and Jim Waychoff of Titusville and her buddy “Tim”.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

Celebration of life service will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Barbara English, Pastor of McKean United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Kiser Hill Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to Erie Homes for Children and Adults, 226 E. 27th Street, Erie, PA 16504.
