Shirley Ann Walker, 87 of Cochranton formerly of Sandy Lake passed away on May 11, 2018 in Cranberry Township. Shirley was born in Titusville on July 3, 1930 to the late Robert Lee and Viola Belle Peebles Turk. She was a graduate of Titusville High School and went on to become a Registered Nurse through the Spencer Hospital program in Meadville. Shirley married her beloved husband Marma Duke Walker in Titusville on May 2, 1953, he preceded her in death on August 29, 2011. Shirley was a devoted mother and wife. She invested her time in her family and always loved hosting family holidays in her home. She also loved to plant sizeable gardens full of flowers and vegetables with birdfeeders scattered throughout. In addition to her family, Shirley invested her time with our Lord and Savior. She was a member of the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, Methodists United in Faith, for over 60 years. She was very involved in the church and was the VBS director for many years as well as a Sunday School teacher. She also hosted a Monday Night Women’s Bible Study in her home for many years. Shirley also volunteered for many years at the Helping Hands Center in Stoneboro. Shirley is survived by her loving children Lyn Braden of Cranberry Township, Glenn Walker and wife Mary Beth of Sandy Lake, and Alan Walker of Sandy Lake. Grandchildren Dale Walker and wife Maura, Mark Walker, Amanda Mathieson and husband Mike, Meghan Banco and husband Colin, and Logan Walker, great grandchildren Carson, Kelsey, and Leah, sister Jean Gray of Debarry, FL, brother Gordon Turk of Titusville, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her brothers Raymond, Chuck, Frances, Glenn, Bruce, Howard, and Kenneth Turk, and sister Lucille Warren. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Black Funeral Homes, Stoneboro & Sandy Lake. Funeral services will be private. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
