Shirley Lou (Tucker) Downing, 92, of Conneaut Lake, passed away Friday, July 9, 2021 at Rolling Fields. She was born January 18, 1929 in Oil City, a daughter of Leon and Louise Prenatt Weikal. She married Raymond S. (Buck) Downing April 17, 1951. Tucker was a 1946 graduate of Oil City High School. She was first employed at the G.C. Murphy Company in Meadville and subsequently worked at Talon. Tucker was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Conneaut Lake. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid sports fan, enjoying her childrens sporting events as well as the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins. Survivors, in addition to her husband Buck, include a daughter-in-law, Ronda Downing of Conneaut Lake; four grandchildren, Chelsea, Colter, Sarah, and Hannah Downing; a great-grandson, Kyle Unice; two sisters-in-law, Hazel (Boots) Milosh and Lou Ann Swartzlander (Norman), all of Conneaut Lake; a nephew, Glen Milosh; and four nieces, Sandra Loreno, Carol Singleterry, Sheree Hawk, and Shirley Workman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Tod and Rod Downing and a sister, Eileen Hawk and her husband Lawrence (Buzz). Family and friends will be received Monday, July 12th from 3-6 p.m. at WAID-COLEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 12422 CONNEAUT LAKE RD., CONNEAUT LAKE. The funeral service will be Tuesday, July 13th at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Sam Heagy, Pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Conneaut Lake, officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
