Shirley Mae Marsteller, 93 of New Vernon Twp, Sandy Lake, passed away on September 21, 2022 at St. Paul’s in Greenville. Shirley was born on July 9, 1929 to the late Roy and Florence (White) Smith. She was a graduate of Stoneboro High School and worked as a homemaker for her husband and children as well as drove school bus for a number of years.
Shirley was a member of New Lebanon Community Church and was very deep in her faith. She was an avid Steelers fan and loved watching their games. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR with her late husband. She loved ice cream and taking trips to Dairy Queen and swimming with her family in Stoneboro Lake. She also enjoyed spending time in Florida with her late husband. Most of all she loved her family dearly.
She married her beloved husband, Wayne K. Marsteller on October 29, 1949, he preceded her in death on October 20, 2017.
Shirley is survived by her children; Barb (Dave) Targett of Navarre, FL, Tim (Connie) Marsteller of CA, Teri Rose of Greenville, and Gary (Wendy) Marsteller of Spotsylvania, VA, grandchildren; Corey (Kerstin), Shelley (Jeffrey), Shannon, Haylee, Hannah, Summer (Alex) and Tyler, and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents Shirley was preceded in death by her son; Ron “Butch” Marsteller, infant daughter; Beverly, brother; Roy Smith, and sisters; Doris and Mary.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose And Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where family and friends are welcome from 12 pm – 3 pm on Monday, September 26. A funeral service will follow visitation at 3 pm with Rev. Virginia LaVan-Gadsby, officiating.
Interment will take place in Hadley Cemetery.
