Spencer E. Gee

Spencer E. Gee, 79, of Meadville, died Tuesday, June 6, 1989, at Meadville Medical Center following a brief illness.

Mr. Gee was born in Conneaut Township, June 11, 1909, a son of Leroy E. and Edith Bacon Gee.  He married Bernadine Poole, November 26, 1930.  She survives.

He had been associate broker with Coldwell Banker Bainbridge Kaufman Real Estate for the past three years and previously had worked in the appliance department at the former W.T. Grant Co. for 14 years and retired in 1974.  He also had operated Gee's Home Appliance Center; was manager of the former Meadville Hardware, Co.; and for 14 years had been employed by Montgomery Ward Co.

He was a member of First Baptist Church and the church's men's Bible class.  He also was former Sunday School teacher and Sunday School superintendent at the church and had served on various boards and committees of the church.  He was past president and 45 year member of Meadville Kiwanis.  He was a charter member of the Meadville Parking Authority and a charter member of the Crawford County Fair Board.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. John (Wilma) Davis of Conneaut Lake and Mrs. James (Caroline) Gillis of Export; one brother, Roland M. Gee of Linesville; four grandchildren and two nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
