Stanley B. Aldrich, about 57, president of the Northwest Pennsylvania Bank & Trust Co., a resident of Oil City but formerly of Meadville, died Thursday evening, January 24, 1963, on a New York City sidewalk.
He was born in West Valley, NY on October 28, 1905.
His education included Chown School of Business Administration American Banking Institute courses, and Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Meadville.
He was a member of the following organizations, several of them as an officer: Masonic Lodge, Meadville Country Club, Taylor Hose Co., Meadville Rotary Club, director of YMCA, Eagles Lodge, Iroquois Club, president of the Chamber of Commerce, Meadville Parking Authority, chairman of Meadville Area School Authority, treasurer of Meadville Community Hotel, Inc., director of City Hospital, and a director of Meadville Area Industrial Commission.
He was active in many community enterprises, serving as chairman of the special gifts division of the 1960 Meadville are industrial development campaign. He served in various top capacities on the former Community Chest and later on the United Fund.
He held a private pilot's license and was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Assn. of Washington DC. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Bankers Assn., past chairman of Group 7 of the state association, and a member of the American Institute of Banking.
Surviving are his widow, the former Ruth Baker; a son, James and his wife Margaret of Raleigh, NC; a daughter, Miss Susan Aldrich; a sister and a granddaughter.
A service was held at the funeral with Rev. Dr. William A. Smith, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Meadville.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery, Meadville.
