Stanley Arthur Weidner passed away at his home on December 5, 2024, after a brief illness.
Stanley was born on February 9, 1932, in Meadville, the son of the late John and Francis (Koehler) Weidner. He graduated from Conneautville High School and attended Edinboro College for two years studying Commercial Art.
Stan worked at Talon in Meadville for 27 years in the Traffic Department, and at Rigby Ford in Conneautville as a Service Manager.
Stanley and his wife Shirley enjoyed many years of love, creating wonderful memories. For the past 20 years, the entire family has come together for a summer weekend to celebrate what has become known as “Weidner Weekend.” On September 4, 2024, they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
Family was everything to Papa. Over the years, he enjoyed watching his children, his grandchildren, and his great grandchildren in their various activities. He was their biggest fan.
“Papa” enjoyed woodworking and was a master carpenter. During his life he built three houses in Conneautville, two of them where he and Shirley raised their daughters. He also built a home in Conneaut Lake where they lived after becoming empty nesters. His home, his daughters’ homes, and his grandchildren’s homes are filled with Stan’s woodworking projects. Many birdhouses he made are visible throughout their neighborhood in Conneaut Lake. Stan loved his neighborhood. He and Shirley would often be seen sitting in front of the house, greeting people and pets as they passed by.
Stan also had a love of flowers and a green thumb to match that love. Gardens at all their homes could have easily been featured in any magazine.
Stanley is survived by his wife of 70 years, Shirley Ann Johnson. He is also survived by his four daughters, Joni Davis of Conneaut Lake; Connie Carter (Robert) of Hanoverton, Ohio; Darcy Paradise (Mark) of Edinboro, Pennsylvania; and Melani Spaeder (James) of Erie, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Tyler (Janet) Davis of Wellington, Florida; Wesley (Elyse) Davis of Greenwood, South Carolina; Maggie (Hubert) Pierre of Smyrna, Georga; McCavitt (Susie Scott) Carter of Arlington, Virginia; Lange Carter of Arlington, Virginia; Marcus (Rachel) Paradise of Fairview, Pennsylvania; and Joshua (Erin) Paradise of Ambridge, Pennsylvania; five great grandchildren, Claire Davis, Zella and Maisie Davis, and Zoey and Jaxon Paradise.
He is proceeded in death by his sister, Mildred Mead, his brother-in-law, Gale Mead, and his sister, JoAnn Toner.
