Stephen C. Voss

Stephen C. (Steve) Voss, 72, of Meadville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 9, 1950 in Shakopee, MN, a son of Carl and Florence Stephan Voss. He married Diane Smith Courtney May 29, 2004. Steve was a 1968 graduate of Delavan High School in Minnesota and attended Mankato State University in Minnesota. He worked as an over the road truck driver, in the salvage business with his brother Marvin, and subsequently for W.L. Dunn Construction. Steve was a member of The Epiphany of The Lord Parish. He loved being with family, going to camp and having campfires, and playing cards and dice. Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Diane Courtney-Voss, include four children, Kimberly Thaemert (Jason) and their children Brandon, Kallie, and Jayden; Shauna Voss (companion Steven Wentz) and their children Jordan, Jonathon, and Jacob; Lance Voss (Rebecca) and their children Allan and Aiden; and Michael Voss, all of Minnesota; two stepchildren, Matthew Courtney (Libby) and Renee Courtney, all of Meadville; a sister, Ruth Olson of Minnesota; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kathleen Karns (Larry), Lawrence T. Smith (Becky), Jennifer Dustin (Bill), and John Smith; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, MaryAnn Hunter, Karen Voss, and Judith Carson; and two brothers, Marvin and Ronald Voss. Calling hours will be Tuesday, November 15th from 4-7 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE with a Scripture Prayer service at 6:45 p.m. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, November 16th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agatha Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville with Fr. Joseph Petrone as Celebrant. The Mass will be livestreamed at https://my.gather.app/remember/stephen-voss Interment will be in Smith Cemetery.
