Steven R. Corey

Steven R. Corey, 52, of 23669 Sawmill Road, Meadville died Sunday, November 04, 2007 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Erie.

He was born in Meadville October 11, 1955 a son of Wayne and Twila McKay Corey.  He married Kimberly S. Weaver December 21, 1992 and she survives.

He worked for Dobson Communications in Boardman, OH and previously had worked as a telephone systems analyst for Williams Communications in Pittsburgh.

He was a 1974 graduate of Randolph High School, served in the US Army from 1974 – 1976, stationed for most of that time in Germany, member of Huidekoper VFW Post 2006, Stafford American Legion Post 111 both of Meadville and Huff American Legion Post 220, Grove City.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son, camping and football.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Kim, include: a son, Cale Corey at home; a step-daughter, Bobbie Sue LeFebvre and her fiancé Jimmy of New Castle; a step-son, Jason Weaver and his wife Wendy of Prospect; two step-grandchildren, Jase and Emma Weaver; his mother, Twila Corey of Meadville; two sisters, Judy Corey of Meadville and Debbie Maloney and her husband Mike of Meadville; a brother, Eric Corey and his wife Becky of Youngsville, NC and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, Wayne, he was preceded in death by a sister, Beth Ellen Corey.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.  The funeral service will follow Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. John Brown officiating and military honors provided by Huidekoper VFW Post 2006.
