Sue Gaillard Brown, 93, of Prattville, Alabama, died Sunday March 2, 1986, at Meadville Medical Center following a brief illness.
Mrs. Brown was born in Perdue Hill, Alabama, March 11, 1892, a daughter of John and Mary Ann Savage Gaillard Frye. She married William L. Brown in 1919. He preceded her in death in 1962.
She was employed as a bookkeeper at Clyde Mallory Steamship Lines, Mobile, Alabama. She was previously employed as a school teacher for several years.
She was a graduate of Barton Academy, Mobile, Alabama; a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Prattville, Alabama; a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Montgomery, Alabama, holding many local and state offices in the organization; a member of Yaupon Garden Club, Plattville, Alabama; and was a member of Huguenot society.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Sue) James of Meadville and Mrs. Zachariah (Elizabeth) Nolen of Gulfport, Miss; three sisters, Mrs. Fenton (Josie) Noland of Prattville, Alabama, Mrs. William (Caroline) Tillman of Montgomery, Alabama and Mrs. Clausel (Helen) Adams of Jackson, Alabama; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.
