Susan Hoffman

April 7, 1886 — June 28, 1910

Mrs. Susan Hoffman, wife of Emory Hoffman, died Tuesday night at her home after an illness of several months.

A former Venango County teacher, she was born in Jackson Township, Venango County, April 7, 1886, a daughter of the late John F. and Anna Smith.  She attended schools at Cooperstown and Edinboro State Normal School.

After their marriage on June 28, 1910, she and Mr. Hoffman lived for 37 years at Mt. Hope where they operated a store for 31 years.  They have lived in Meadville since 1947.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Priscilla Class of the church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, G. Stewart Hoffman and two grandsons, Ronald and Roger of Meadville; and two brothers, W. C. Smith and R. S. Smith of Norwwalk, CA.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
