Suzanne J. Bobbitt, 96 of Jackson Center, passed away on November 7, 2018 at Avalon Springs in Mercer. Suzanne was born on September 21, 1922, in Louvoil, Nord Province, in Northern France, to the late Ulysses and Emma Moine. She left France in 1946 after World War II and spoke no English when she arrived in Ellis Island. She was married to her beloved husband, Gilbert Bobbitt, on February 9, 1946, he preceded her in death on September 10, 1991. Suzanne worked as a homemaker for her husband and family. She loved to bake and made wonderful pies and bread. She had a great sense of humor and loved to make jokes. She loved her family very much and loved spending time with them. Suzanne is survived by her daughter-in-law, Judy Bobbitt of Jackson Center, grandsons Guy “Gig” Bobbitt and wife Mary, Michael Bobbitt and wife Amy, all of Jackson Center, Rick DeLong and wife Deniece of VA, Steven DeLong and wife Jennifer of Pittsburgh, Robert “Bobby” DeLong and wife Amber of Greenville, and Jamie Richardson and husband Dale of MD, great-grandchildren, Abby, Jeremy, Chris, Alexis, Matthew, Devin, Dylan, Danny, Wyatt, Aaron, Reis, Alek, Dara, Allison, Emma, and Olivia, and great-great grandchildren, Grayson, Theodore, and Jaxx, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Suzanne was preceded in death by her children Guy “Frenchie” Bobbitt, James Bobbitt, and Shirley DeLong, and an infant grandson, Steven Bobbitt. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Homes, Stoneboro & Sandy Lake. There will be no visitation and services will be private as per Suzanne’s wishes.
