T. Dudley Ballinger, 89, of Walnut Street, Meadville, died at the United Methodist Nursing Home Saturday, January 19, 1980, after a brief illness.
He was born in Williamsport March 30, 1890, son of A.L. and Mary Thomas Ballinger. He married Cecilia Shires October 17, 1913, and she died March 19, 1976.
Ballinger graduated in 1911 from Allegheny College and received a degree in public health from the Massachussetts Institute of Technology. He worked in public health in Princeton, Orange and East Orange, NJ, until 1924. Ballinger graduated in 1926 from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and then became associated with his father in Ballinger's Drug Store in Meadville until 1954 when he sold the business.
He was a life member of Stone United Methodist Church and was active in community activities. He was a member of the American Legion Charles Stafford Post 111 and the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity at Allegheny College.
Ballinger is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Anna Mary) Irons of Meadville and Mrs. Bryce (Cecilia) King of Houston, TX; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Service were held at the Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
