Tammy Leigh (Roschi) Young Eckenrode

Tammy Leigh Roschi Young Eckenrode, 49, of Jamestown, died at home surrounded by her family, Monday, July 25, 2016.  She courageously battled brain cancer since September 2014.

She was born in Meadville February 5, 1967 a daughter of Wayne L. Roschi and Nancy Ann Greenalch Roschi.  She married Thomas Eckenrode September 12, 2015 and he survives.

She was a 1985 graduate of Meadville Area Senior High School and a 1989 graduate of Allegheny College with a BA in English.  She earned her Associates Degree in Nursing from Butler Community College in 2008.  She worked for PNC Bank from 1995 until she started working as a Registered Nurse at Meadville Medical Center in 2008.

She was known for her wonderful laugh, smile and caring nature.  She was an avid reader, enjoyed raising chickens, fishing and spending time with her family.

Survivors, in addition to her husband Thomas, include:  two sons, Corey Young of Meadville and Evan Young and his girlfriend Danielle Reisinger of Meadville; her mother, Nancy Roschi of Meadville; her father, Wayne Roschi of Tennessee; two sisters, Traci Latsko and her husband Jeff of Erie and Kelli Kraeling and her husband Kevin of Conneaut Lake; a brother, Scott Roschi and his wife Regina of Apple Valley, MN; a step-son, Logan Eckenrode and his girlfriend Melissa Stroup of Jamestown; three grandchildren Gavin, Kaylie and Aria; two nephews, Grant and Justin Latsko; a niece, Addie Kraeling; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tom and Margie Eckenrode of New Philadelphia, OH; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Eckenrode of Hookstown, PA and Mandy Slagle of Zoarville, OH; four nieces, Jenna, Gabrielle, Sam and Hannah, a nephew, Joshua and a great nephew, Maxwell on her husband’s side of the family and all her many wonderful friends.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, Inc., 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake.

The funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Jeffrey Lucas of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Roman Catholic Church, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute, 16792 Conneaut Lake Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
