Terry L. Tyler

Terry L. Tyler, 65, of Meadville (Randolph Township), passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016 at his residence following an unexpected illness. He was born November 20, 1950 in Meadville, a son of the late Hibbard L. and Bertha M. Jones Tyler. He had been married to Linda Schmitt Maloney. Terry was a 1969 graduate of Randolph East Mead High School. He worked at Heatrex for 43 years, retiring in 2012. He was a member of Meadville Eagles Aerie 429, Meadville Elks Lodge 219, Saegertown American Legion Post 205, West Mead 2 VFD, Vernon Central VFD, Vernon VFD, the Italian Civic Club, and VFW Post 2006, Meadville. He enjoyed participating in the Monday night Elks golf league at Hailwood Golf Course and as a substitute in the Thursday golf league at Mt. Hope Golf Course. Terry was an avid card player and Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Pirates fan. He loved Iron City Beer and was proud of his yard, known as having "the best yard in Randolph Township." Survivors include two nieces, Nikki Hartman and her husband Charlie of Guys Mills and Lisa Henry and her husband Denzel of Saegertown; a grandson, Lawrence Tyler of Saegertown; two great-nieces, Tausha Rhoades and her husband Adam of Georgia and Chelsea Schultz of Guys Mills; two great-nephews, Ashtin and Tyler Henry; two great-great-nephews, Tanner Schultz and Noah Rhoades; his former wife and long-time friend, Linda Maloney of Guys Mills; and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Paul Tyler; a sister, Karen Moore; and three infant siblings. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville. A private family graveside service and interment will be in Massillon Cemetery, Massillon, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any of the clubs or organizations Terry belonged to.
